Colorful Spring Elegance
I’m a huge fan of color, and consider myself a color enthusiast when it comes to my Wardrobe Styling work – encouraging my clients to add colors within their unique Color Seasons into their wardrobes, replacing black whenever possible.
One of my favorite color combos is pink & blue. It’s soft & feminine, yet quirky & fun. For this outfit, I mixed various shades of bright pink, which lives in my Color Season as I’m a Spring. Curious which color Season you are? Find out by booking my Color Analysis Session!
Another Styling trick I teach my clients to help put together outfits that are polished is the concept of “linking” – where you coordinate at least 2 items in your look, whether through color, details or other “linking elements” to make the outfit appear purposeful. Matchy-matchy is one way to do it, but can feel dated & sometimes predictable/boring, so I like to find more subtle ways to include similarities – like choosing various shades of the same color, that are in the same color family. The key is not to deviate outside the HUE (family of color) so that the colors look like a continuation of each other & not a mistake when combined.
I also like to find other details that complement each other – so that when someone’s eye takes in the look, it connects all the elements & helps your outfit tell a story.
In my outfit in today’s post, the zippers on the jacket & the hardware on the handbag serve as those “linking” elements.
How do you like to experiment with style details & colors when you get dressed up? Would love to hear in the comments below!

Lovely! I also find elements to link my outfit. I also like your suggestion of choosing different shades in the same color family. Right now I’m a big fan of the monochromatic look!
